PROSPECTIONS for Art, Education and Knowledge Production was a transdisciplinary initiative mobilised by Alexandra Balona and Sofia Lemos at the intersection of visual arts and performance studies.
Through a programme of discursive gatherings, performances, screenings, and publications, it sought to move beyond fixed methodologies highlighting research as an engaged, open-ended and dialogical encounter. Combining theory and practice, the program used assemblary formats to foster interdisciplinary approaches to ecology, technology, and the impacts of colonial modernity, investigating narrative plots and present-day struggles at the origin and fiction of the self.
